What is Eduroam?

eduroam (education roaming) is the secure worldwide roaming access service for the international research and education community.

This service allows students, researchers and staff from participating institutions to obtain Internet connectivity across the center and when visiting participating institutions.

How does it work?

When a user tries to log on the wireless network of a visited eduroam-enabled institution, the user's authentication request is sent to the user's home institution. This is done via a hierarchical system of RADIUS servers. The user's home institution verifies the user's credentials and sends to the visited institution (through RADIUS servers) the result of such verification.

Username and Password

The credentials for all BCAM members are:

  • Username: {login for portal}@bcamath.org
  • Password: {password for portal}

You can use the eduroam CAT (Configuration Assistant Tool) through cat.eduroam.org.

Setup Guides

Most modern devices and operating systems should be available through the CAT tool mentioned above. However, if you managed to configure eduroam in a device which is not in this list, please share it with us. Your contribution might help others.
