Simulation of Wave Propagation

Daniel Garcia Lozano obtained the degree of Mechanical Engineering at National University of Colombia in 2010. After that, he studied a MSc. in Mechanical Engineering where he developed a computational framework to analyze the air pollution dispersion in Bogotá city. Simultaneously he became a member of modeling and numerical methods group (GNUM), where he worked in estimate life expectancy of vehicles parts and analyzed the loads applied at inlet pipes in water pumps. Daniel continued his studies at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia where he became part of the Numerical Porous Media Center (NUMPOR), while he completed a second MSc. in Mechanical Engineering. During that time he helped in developing a computational framework to predict incompressible fluids by an Isogeometric divergence-free approach. Also, he worked in optimizing a framework employed to study the dynamics of lifting bodies, e.g., the flight of birds and paper airplanes. Since February 2015 he is a Ph.D. student in the "Department of Applied Mathematics, Statistics and Operational Research" at the University of the Basque Country under the supervision of David Pardo.
