Spring tessellations: Spring–block networks with n springs per block

This project is done in collaboration with Dr. J.H.E. Cartwright (CSIC - Universidad de Granada).

Using a simple model based on blocks and springs we obtain two-dimensional quasiperiodic networks which can then be analyzed using radial distribution functions and
diffraction patterns in order to classify their crystallinity. We use Fast Fourier Transforms to distinguish between crystals, quasicrystals and amorphs.
