About us
The Department of Education, Language Policy and Culture of the Basque Government, University of the Basque Country and Ikerbasque promoted BCAM - Basque Center for Applied Mathematics, a world-class interdisciplinary research center on Applied Mathematics.The center started operations in September 2008 and is located in Bilbao, Basque Country (Spain) and the Bizkaia Regional Government and Innobasque are also members of BCAM Steering Board.
Embedded in a multicultural environment, BCAM provides the right atmosphere for research and promotes the creation of hard-working international and interdisciplinary teams.
In addition to the support of the Basque Government, BCAM is able to count on a solid network of international collaborators. This cooperation points towards worldwide reference organizations and scientists, promoting mobility and exchange of researchers, predoc and posdoctoral training tasks and the organization of dissemination events and knowledge transfer.
The scientific program is structured in five research areas covering various fields of Applied Mathematics: Computational Mathematics, Mathematical Modelling with Multidisciplinary Applications, Mathematical Physics, Analysis of Partial Differential Equations and Data Science.
