I received my BSc degree in Mathematics from the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU in 2012. After finishing my bachelor degree I had an internship in the Research Unit of the Basurto Hospital where I was introduced into Biostatistics. I obtained my Master’s degree in Statistics and Operations Research at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia in 2014 with a special focus on Biostatistics and Optimization subjects. In my master thesis I worked on stochastic programming models for energy management optimization problems (microgrids including renewable sources) using GAMS (General Algebraic Modeling System) and AMPL. During 2015 I worked as a biostatistician in BioCruces. Currently I am doing my PhD, funded by AZTI-Tecnalia, under the supervision of Leire Ibaibarriaga (AZTI) and Dae-Jin Lee (BCAM). The PhD research topic is focused on the development of statistical methods to improve fish population management. I am working on Bayesian methods, Generalized Additive Models or Monte Carlo simulation among others.
