  BASIC, GENERIC AND/OR TRANSVERSAL COMPETENCES TO BE ACQUIRED BY THE STUDENT 1- Acquire knowledge and experience of professional environments and routines with the aim of approaching the reality of the work of the different professional profiles in the field of advertising and public relations that the market demands. 2- To apply skills and use techniques, technologies and resources to the development of content and processes of advertising communication and public relations and information in general. 3- Searching for, selecting, prioritising and analysing information and documentation in different sources, adapting their content to different narrative forms and strategies. 4- Communicate and present, fluently, efficiently and in an argued way projects, achievements and results of work and research, in different genres, formats and media of advertising and public relations. SPECIFIC COMPETENCES TO BE ACQUIRED BY THE STUDENT 1- Develop skills and abilities related to the participation, management and optimisation of teamwork, applying informed criteria to decision-making and the evaluation of and the evaluation of results. 2- Project and design strategies aimed at identifying objectives and planning actions, in the context of the development of advertising and public relations projects. 3- Synthesise, develop and apply new creative approaches to the resolution of communication problems. Description of activities or tasks to be performed: 1 - Manage the external and internal communication of the centre, its digital presence (web, social networks and newsletter). 2 - Contribute to the organisation of scientific and dissemination events. 3 - Write corporate news, interviews and press releases. 4 - Manage the centre's internal communication tools. 5 - Design and prepare content for social networks (Twitter, Youtube, Linkedin).

• Hilbert—Kunz multiplicity in characteristic 2 Download (144 KB) [+]

  Hilbert—Kunz multiplicity is a measure of singularity in positive characteristic. The Han—Monsky algorithm provides a way to compute it for diagonal hypersurfaces. In particular, it allows to compute the Hilbert—Kunz multiplicity of (cA_1)-singularity in characteristic p > 2. However, the formula for p = 2 isnot known, since in this case (cA_1)-singularity is not diagonal. The goal of the fellowship will be to settle this missing case.

  Training data obtained in practice is often provided by a heterogeneous community that label examples with different levels of accuracy, ranging from perfect to missing annotations. This project will develop new machine learning techniques that utilize such weak and heterogeneous training data, and evaluate the performance gains with respect to existing approaches.

• WAVE_MMB_Nonlocal problems and applications Download (413 KB) [+]

  Nonlocal operators like the fractional Laplacian are known to be important in applications and they have been a “hot topic” for research in the last decade. In this project we are interested in understanding and studying nonlocal diffusion operators whose properties vary in different parts of the domain. We intend to consider the problem from both a theoretical point of view (studying the properties of the operators and corresponding boundary value problems (BVP)) and a numerical one (finding numerical approximations of the operator and the BVP). The proposed plan for the project is as follows: 1. the study of existing literature on classical nonlocal operators and nonlocal BVP; 2. the understanding of when these operators with varying nonlocality are well defined from a theoretical standpoint; 3. the development of suitable discretizations of the operators considered. Depending on the background and interests of the applicant different aspects of the proposed plan could be more thoroughly investigated. Examples include: a. studying the well-posedness of BVP with these operators; b. investigation of modelling applications of the considered operators; c. proving convergence of the operator discretizations; d. numerical implementation of the proposed discretizations and testing of their accuracy.
