Simulation of Wave Propagation

Mazarredo, 14. 48009 Bilbao Basque Country - Spain

After graduating with a M.Sc in Engineering in 2012,I defended my Ph.D in December 2015. I am currently a Postdoctoral Visiting Fellow in Computational and Applied Mathematics at the Basque Center for Applied Mathematics. My main research topic is the propagation of waves in highly heterogeneous media. Numerical approximation of waves is a challenging task because it is computationally expensive, and strongly linked to applications in the context of inverse problems. Though wave imaging has several applications, like radar detection or medical imaging, I have mostly focus on seismic imaging. More specifically, my work in this area includes high order finite element methods, multiscale methods, numerical pollution analysis and velocity model reconstruction. My contributions in these topics include the design and the implementation of HPC compliant numerical schemes, as well as the corresponding mathematical analysis.
