Type:
Regional Project
Status:
Closed
Objective:
TWIN-net aims to develop a Digital Twin of the electricity distribution grid (low and medium voltage), so that in 100% renewable grid scenarios: (1) a reliable replica of this infrastructure is available to continuously monitor its status (voltage profiles, power, congestion, failures, etc.), and anticipate possible incidents, and (2) optimise its operation technically (minimising losses) and economically (minimising operating costs), maintaining the quality of the voltage supplied at all times. All this through the development of digital technologies for estimating the state of the electricity grid, optimising its operation, and predicting renewable generation and demand in the short term (in the order of 5 minutes).
