Andrea Cianchi (University of Florence)

Biography

Andrea Cianchi is a Professor at the University of Florence (Italy) and a Guest Professor at Charles University in Prague (Czech Republic). His research centers on Elliptic Partial Differential Equations and related Functional and Geometric Inequalities. He is the author of more than 130 papers on these topics. 

He is the recipient of the “Gaetano Fichera” Prize 2014 awarded by the Italian Mathematical Union, the “Luigi e Wanda Amerio” Prize 2018 awarded by the Istituto Lombardo delle Scienze e delle Lettere, the Honorary Medal 2023 of the Czech Mathematical Society, the “Orazio Arena” Prize 2023 awarded by the Italian Mathematical Union. Cianchi was a Plenary Speaker at the “19th Meeting of the Italian Mathematical Union 2011” and at the Indam (National Institute for Advanced Mathematics) Day 2018. He was also the “Jarnik’s Lecturer” for the opening of the academic year 2021/2022 at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University in Prague. He is a member of the Editorial Board of international research journals, including Annali di Matematica Pura e Applicata, Journal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, Applicable Analysis, and Mathematische Nachrichten.
