2nd Bilbao Meeting on Mathematical Fluid Dynamics held at BCAM

From 3 to 5 November 2025, the 2nd Bilbao Meeting on Mathematical Fluid Dynamics took place at the Basque Center for Applied Mathematics (BCAM). This three-day scientific meeting focused on the mathematical analysis of fluid dynamics from multiple perspectives.

The main goal of the meeting was to foster scientific collaboration among researchers working on different aspects of fluid dynamics, from both theoretical and applied viewpoints. The event brought together members of the national and international mathematical community, including participants from universities and research centres in the Basque Country, Spain, and several other European and North American institutions.

The scientific programme included invited talks, thematic sessions, and periods for informal discussion, designed to encourage the exchange of ideas, the presentation of recent results, and the establishment of new collaborations. The talks covered a wide range of topics within the field, such as incompressible and compressible flows, free boundary problems, fluid–structure interaction, optimal control in fluid systems, geophysical fluid dynamics, and issues related to turbulence and stability.

The scientific organising committee was composed of Arnab Roy and Arghir Zarnescu, both researchers in Applied Analysis at BCAM. The meeting also served as a valuable opportunity for early-career scientists, including PhD students and postdoctoral researchers, to engage with established experts and build collaborative research networks.
