BCAM joins Euskaraldia 2025
-
As a promoter of the initiative, the centre will promote the use of the Basque language in its day-to-day relations.
The Basque Centre for Applied Mathematics, BCAM, has joined the Euskaraldia, 11 egun euskaraz initiative as a collaborating entity.
Euskaraldia, which will be held from 15 to 25 May, aims to influence the linguistic habits of Basque speakers, so that they use more Basque in their daily lives. Several Basque-speaking associations in the Basque Country have launched this 11-day initiative, which aims to turn citizens into Ahobizi and Belarriprest.
Ahobizi are those who speak Basque to those who understand the language; in turn, they will also address those who do not speak the language in Basque, even if it is only the first word.
Belarriprest, on the other hand, are people who at least understand Basque, who invite others to express themselves in Basque.
BCAM invites its members to be Ahobizi and Belarriprest from the 15th to the 25th of May, as well as to use more Basque among themselves in the daily life of the centre.
