Bilbao–Barcelona Meeting on Analysis and PDEs held at BCAM
From 3 to 5 September 2025, the BIOBCNAPDE — Bilbao–Barcelona Analysis and PDEs Meeting took place at the Basque Center for Applied Mathematics (BCAM), a three-day conference aimed at strengthening scientific interaction between the Analysis and Partial Differential Equations (PDE) communities of Bilbao and Barcelona.
The main objective of the meeting was to foster scientific exchange and create synergies among researchers from centres such as CRM, the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, the Universitat de Barcelona, the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, BCAM and the University of the Basque Country/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea, as well as with collaborators from other institutions.
The scientific programme included invited lectures, short talks and poster sessions, and a book of abstracts compiling the contributions presented. The talks covered a wide spectrum within Analysis and PDEs, addressing both theoretical and applied topics such as regularity theory and singularities, non-local operators, dispersive and hyperbolic equations, inverse and spectral problems, numerical analysis and spectral methods, fluid dynamics and interaction models, calculus of variations, and probabilistic aspects in PDEs. The presentations combined recent results, technical methods and open perspectives, sparking active debates among participants with diverse academic backgrounds and trajectories.
The scientific organisation was overseen by a committee composed of Naiara Arrizabalaga (UPV/EHU), Carme Cascante (CRM), Albert Mas (UPC), Luz Roncal (BCAM) and Luis Vega (UPV/EHU). The meeting also served as a networking hub for young researchers and visitors from the participating institutions, fostering collaborations and joint research lines.
The event was funded by by the Basque Government through the BERC 2022-2025 program and by the Ministry of Science and Innovation: BCAM Severo Ochoa accreditation CEX2021-001142-S / MICIN / AEI / 10.13039/501100011033 and EHU.
