Bilbao Dirac Eguna 2026 takes place at BCAM

On January 14th, the University of the Basque Country (EHU) and he Basque Centre for Applied Mathematics (BCAM) hosted Bilbao Dirac Eguna 2026, a one-day scientific meeting dedicated to the Dirac equation. The event took place in the Maryam Mirzakhani Seminar Room at BCAM in Bilbao and brought together mathematicians and physicists interested in both the theory and applications of this fundamental equation.

The programme included plenary talks and invited presentations from established researchers and early-career scientists. It covered a range of topics linked to the Dirac equation, such as mathematical structures, analytical techniques and recent developments in related fields. Speakers presented their current work, allowing attendees to grasp key methods and results in areas like spectral analysis, relativistic quantum models, and computational approaches.

Contributions highlighted ongoing efforts to understand both the foundational aspects of the Dirac equation and its modern applications. The speakers' talks reflected a mix of theoretical and practical perspectives, with studies exploring new solution frameworks as well as connections to other areas of mathematical physics.

Although modest in size, the event encouraged discussion and exchange among participants, offering an opportunity for collaboration and future research planning.
