Objective:

"The main objective of this project is the characterisation - molecular parameterisation - of a subpopulation of patients diagnosed with obesity, based on new analyses that will allow the establishment of personalised preventive and therapeutic measures to improve the prognosis and quality of life of these patients. The incorporation of metabolomics, epigenetics, erythrocyte membrane lipidomics and the obtaining of the individual's satiety and salivation profile will be complementary tools to conventional anthropometric and biomedical parameters. Therefore, key and specific biomarkers of diabetes and obesity, reflecting a correlation between plasma membrane activity, lipid metabolism and their epigenetic regulatory mechanisms, will be investigated."
