Verónica Álvarez Castro, Postdoc Fellow in BCAM’s Machine Learning line, currently at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA), has been awarded as one of the Young Researchers in Computer Science in the The Research Awards of the Scientific Society of Computer Science of Spain (SCIE )-Fundación BBVA
The jury of these awards has taken into account her contributions to machine learning in the field of adaptation to temporal changes, both in its most fundamental aspects and in its application to specific problems such as energy consumption prediction.
The Research Awards of the Scientific Society of Computer Science of Spain (SCIE)-BBVA Foundation recognize the excellence of the most outstanding scientists in our country in the field of computer science.
They consist of two annual and nationwide categories: the Young Researchers in Computer Science category, which aims to distinguish innovative and relevant doctoral works , and the National Computer Science Awards, which recognize the work of researchers and public and private entities that have dedicated their professional careers and efforts to the study, strengthening, and dissemination of this discipline.
