The main objective of the M-KONTAK project is to gain an in-depth understanding of the failure modes and their effect on metallic materials and the surfaces of threaded joints in candidate technologies for high-pressure H2 effect on the metallic materials and surfaces that make up the threaded joints in candidate technologies for the conduction and storage of H2 at high pressure, through the development of specific study methodologies based on experimentation and simulation.
The knowledge generated will in turn allow the generation of computational and experimental tools with predictive capacity that represent this type of complex systems, something that currently has great potential for application in the energy sector, due to the lack of simple and economic methodologies for the scaling of these systems and their industrial validation.
