PhD Student at BCAM

Usue Mori received the MSc degree in mathematics, and a PhD in computer science from the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU, Spain, in 2010 and 2015, respectively.  She is currently working as a lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence of the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU. 

My research focuses on the particle-based multiscale simulation of synthetic and biological soft matter, such as hierarchical assembly block copolymer and proteins, and the flow of colloidal and cellular systems.

PhD student at the Linear and Non-Linear Waves group at BCAM

My main research interests are in the field of Operations Research and Management Science, particularly in Stochastic Programming and Combinatorial Optimization. On one hand, we are dedicated to designing mathematical models that incorporate uncertainty and include effective strategies to manage risk. On the other hand, we develop exact, metaheuristic and matheuristic algorithms to solve large-scale optimization problems, seeking a balance between quality, efficiency and speedup.

Santiago Mazuelas received the Ph.D. in Mathematics and Ph.D. in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Valladolid, Spain, in 2009 and 2011, respectively.

Ali Hashemian is a Research Fellow at BCAM - Basque Center for Applied Mathematics (Bilbao, Spain). He is currently the Principal Investigator (PI) at BCAM in the following two H2020 European Union projects: the RISE Project MATHROCKS, and the Interreg POCTEFA Project PIXIL.
