Miguel Camarasa will defend his thesis on Monday, October 27th

The defence will take place at Salón de Grados, Faculty of Science and Technology (EHU - Leioa) at 10:00

Miguel Camarasa Buades is a PhD candidate in mathematics and statistics, with focus in mathematical physics and functional analysis. His research is focused in the study of the Dirac operator in the framework of relativistic quantum mechanics, and the Schrödinger operator in quantum mechanics. He also holds an MSc in Mathematical Research from Universitat Politècnica de València, a BSc in Mathematics from the Universitat de València, and a BSc in Aerospace Engineering in the Universitat Politècnica de València. Beyond academia, he has a math channel on YouTube called Mates Mike, where he teaches math visually.

His thesis, titled “Singular interactions of the Dirac operator” is supervised by Prof. Luis Vega (BCAM & UPV/EHU Professor). It is scheduled to be defended on October 27th, 2025, at Salón de Grados, Faculty of Science and Technology (EHU - Leioa) at 10:00 a.m.

On behalf of all members of BCAM, we would like to wish him all the best for the future, both professionally and personally.

Abstract

We study two operators under the conceptual framework of relativistic and non-relativistic quantum mechanics, the Dirac and Schrödinger operators. We work on the problem of self-adjointess and spectral properties when these operators are defined on domains and curves with some non-smooth regularities such as corners.
