BCAM holds its PhD Meeting 2026 to support and guide predoctoral researchers
BCAM has held a new edition of the PhD Meeting, an annual event designed to guide, accompany, and provide comprehensive support to the predoctoral community throughout their research journey.
“Our commitment is to offer a flexible, caring, and stimulating work environment that enables our young researchers to develop their full scientific potential,” highlighted the center’s management team.
During the event, administrative tools, the legal framework, and professional development opportunities aimed at guaranteeing an environment of scientific and human excellence were reviewed.
Key initiatives and updates presented:
- Unified and accessible management: BCAM has integrated services from People & Care and the Projects Office to provide continuous, coordinated tracking of individual grants (such as FPI/PRE, Ikerbasque, JdC, MSCA, or transfer grants).
- Personalized assistance: A one-on-one appointment service has been launched to allow PhD candidates to resolve specific queries regarding their payroll, tax withholdings (IRPF), and contractual conditions in a personalized manner.
- Boosting the BIKIAK Mentoring Program: This initiative has been restructured to connect 1st-year students directly—starting right from onboarding—with 3rd- and 4th-year mentors, organized primarily by research lines.
With this event, BCAM reaffirms its commitment to open management and comprehensive support, providing researchers-in-training with all the necessary resources to successfully complete their doctoral stage.
